TASK

Your team is responsible for designing a travel brochure that will attract vacationers to the various planets. Your team must determine the layout design for the brochure and Will be responsible for the wording of the written portions of the brochure. The choice of words must be clear and persuasive.
Each team will be responsible for designing a brochure for one of the eight planets in our great solar system.
It is important to remember that the brochure should describe the pleasant and inviting features of the planet.
Each member will need to choose one of the following jobs:
  • ◍ Meteorologist: Collect and record data on the planet’s atmospheric conditions including weather patterns, atmospheric composition, temperature and barometric pressure readings.
  • ◍ Topographer: Investigates the planet’s landforms. Will be responsible for describing the physical features of the planet and collect visual images representing such features.
  • ◍ Biologist: Will research conditions on the surface of the planet including local plant and animal life as well as the presence and form of water. The biologist will also describe hotel accommodations that would be provided to enable humans to vacation on the planet.
  • ◍ Historian: Will find their planet's symbol, where the planet's name originated, and who/when/how were the planets discovered.

Process

◍ Step One: 

After selecting your jobs, begin your research/role by using the following links:

Each job is REQUIRED to write one paragraph based off of the data they gathered. A paragraph is three to five sentences.

◍ Step two: 

While you are gathering research, start planning out the design of your brochure. Each team member must think of a way to make their data sound enticing and persuasive to attract tourists. 

◍ Step three: 

Once you finish collecting all your data, designate one person to start on front of the brochure. The front MUST be alluring enough to have a tourist tempted to pick it up. You can draw or print the visual images for your brochure. You can also write or type your advertisement for your brochure. REMEMBER, you must include your planet’s atmospheric conditions including weather patterns, atmospheric composition, temperature, barometric pressure readings, landforms, possible life or water,  visual images, the planet's symbol, the planet's name origin, who/when/how the planet was discovered and, most importantly, hotel accommodations.
